jAPS 2.0 at Barcamp Eross "Accessibility and CMS"

"Accessibility and CMS opensource: measurements, tools and new economic opportunities."
Barcamp and convention aim is the presentation of project RACER results:
1. convention to present RACER products and kits for accessibility
2. barcamp to meet Governments and compar CMS and projects.
jAPS will attend BarCamp with the presentation: jAPS 2.0 the web accessible to everyone.
jAPS project born to overcome digital barriers. jAPS 2.0 Platform uses Web 2.0 as a model for all people to share information and services (no digital divide!).
jAPS 2.0 goal is to break down the digital barriers making easier access to information even to people with different disabilities.
The frontend engine of jAPS can output almost everything: from pure XML for DTT frameworks and the like, to modern dynamic web portals, accessible portals and web applications, mobile or iphone specific web sites, and even more.

The Mobile Portal is multi-languages: Italian, English, French, German and Spanish.
If you connect to the institutional portal by mobile device, a special software automatically address to portal the mobile version. It is also possible to directly access to the mobile version through the address www.comune.cagliari.it/mobile/.

Among the important innovations of the new version there is a reorganization of the administration area of jAPS 2.0 platform, in an optical of service integration platform. It is created the plugin jACMS, the Content Management System of jAPS 2.0 Platform, extrapolating from the platform.
Among other changes, version 2.0.8 includes:
* Content rendering engine abstraction
* Change of management catalog showlet engine
* Tree Nodes Refactoring
* Inclusion of listener label backend
* Updated libraries: commons-logging, JDOM, Lucene, and Velocity OSCache
* Update of layout administration interfaces
* Refactorings of source code
* Translation of all the Javadoc notes in the source code
* Inclusion of context file and move the configuration from the systemParams.property to context.xml
IMPORTANT
The last point (inclusion context files and move of the configuration parameters) leads to a change in the installation procedures.
The parameters that were present in the file "/ WEB-INF/conf/systemParams.properties" and are subject to change in installation procedures have been moved to the file "/ META-INF/context.xml.

* the days without events are shown in normal format
* the days with events are displayed in underlined format.
These days are a link to the page, responsible to display the events of the day selected.

Integration of jAPS 2.0 with XWiki and Cas
by Roberta Quaresima on 2009-09-18The integration between jAPS 2.0 Platform and a centralized authentication system consists of an external Wiki, XWiki, and Single Sign On CAS (Central Authentication Service) has been made.
A jAPS Plugin which allows the integration of jAPS 2.0 with CAS, and a connector specifically to the integration of CAS with XWiki, has been made. The connectors keep unmodified the local authentication systems of each application manage by Cas.

The Portal has a new look and a more dynamic and functional architecture of content, integrating some instances of Web 2.0.
The Portal is complying with accessibility requirements of "Stanca Law", and allows to citizens and professionist to access to more than 15 thousand content.
The spirit that animates the project is to involve the user to know the institutions and their activities.
