Malta's public administration wants its institutions to increase their use of open source software. In a directive published early last week, the government says it also wants to share more of its own applications by publishing them using the European Union's open source licence (EUPL).

News Item MT: Government and IBM provide free GNU/Linux trainings — published on Mar 21, 2007
The Maltese government this month launched a free GNU/Linux training program. The courses are sponsored by IT services giant IBM, and are open to IT employees both within the public and the private sector.
