- A little over a hundred schools in the Austrian state of Salzburg are now using the Joomla open source content management system to host web sites for their schools and offer services to students and parents. But getting the staff and teachers comfortable with the Internet tools takes more time than anticipated, reports Christian Macher, one of the main IT administrators involved in assisting schools with their web sites.

With workshops, presentations and demonstrations, they aim to make computer users aware of open formats for electronic documents. Many groups will focus on public administrations and governments.
