International workshop on e-Health in emerging economies

This three-days event will bring together NGOs and members from the academia, governments, churches and the industry, in order to share experiences and find ways to improve the lives of millions of human beings in the developing world. Attention will be paid to open source tools to be used to improve health and education conditions.

The conference will promote free and open source software as one of the main pillars for a sustainable framework for providing e-health and education for the developing and least developed countries. On 10 February, Richard Stallman will present his opinion on the topic "Free Software in Ethics and Practice". On 12 February, participants will have the opportunity to attend presentations on the GNU Solidario project , open source educational software, and the adoption of open source sotware by the Brasilian government.

Registration is already open and attendance fees are more convenient for early bookings. An online registration form is available.
