Sahana workshop at ISCRAM conference
Sahana workshop at the pre-conference program for the ISCRAM 2009 conference in Göteborg (Sweden) on May 10, 2009.
We had a Sahana workshop at the pre-conference program of the ISCRAM 2009 conference in Göteborg (Sweden) on May 10, 2009, where we discussed the deployment of Sahana for the management of recurrent flood disasters in Mozambique.
Main focus of the Mozambique deployment of Sahana is the networking of information on flood hazards at both the government and the municipality level of public administration, and moreover the support of early warning and the management of mitigation measures (such as evacuations) prior to flood incidents.

This Sahana deployment is part of the IRMA project (Integrated Risk Management for Africa), which is a European research project funded by the European Commission. The Sahana team will help to build local capacity by exchange of knowledge, such as providing trainings and on-site workshops on Sahana development and administration.
