OSOR Communities

The OSOR.eu project provides public administrations with support for communities enabling the share, exchange and re-use of FLOSS and good practices in this field. Community pages are opened regularly.

These interactive places in OSOR.eu provide essential services for enabling free and open exchange among OSOR.eu users with similar interest. OSOR.eu welcomes suggestions for new communities. Please post your suggestion here (you need to be a registered user).

A citizens’ portal

Publishing the source code of the e-government platform that the City of Oulu uses, as well as that of the platform’s content modules, aims at improving service development and at promoting inter-municipal cooperation. DEMETRA+

eID – eSignature – PKI  community

The community site  is set up as a result of the eID – eSignature and PKI workshop organized by OSOR on 13th  2008.  The workshop was organized partly to facilitate the exchange of information among public administrations and oss communities in the field of eID/eSignature and PKI, partly to  serve as an input for the OSOR team to help defined areas where better support for communities is expected. EUPL

The objective of the EUPL community is to maintain the focus on F/OSS licensing, especially by public sector authorities. It is to exchange opinions and experiences, to clarify issues, to explore new ideas (the previous EUPL elaboration process has demonstrated that your opinions are important and will be taken in consideration). FLOSS in Austrian courts community

The main goals of the communiy "FLOSS in Austrian courts" are to provide the latest news concerning the use of free software in Austrian courts and to provide a platform for judges, public prosecutors and other court personnel for networking purposes.[read more..]

GIS/SDI Community

The GIS (Geographic Information System) Software Community aims at supporting the development and referencing the open source geospatial software on the OSOR. The OSOR GIS Community’s goal is to promote exchange of software and experience, and to encourage the use and collaborative development of community-led projects. Local Government Ireland

Open Source community is a community of like minded individuals from across the whole public service in Local Government in Ireland. We are looking to gather Open Source Use Cases and Case Studies and promote best practice for the Benefit of Local Government in Ireland.[read more..]

Municipalities community

The community site is set up as a result of the Municipalities workshop organized by OSOR on 14th November, 2008. The workshop was organized partly to facilitate the exchange of information among public administrations and oss communities, partly to serve as an input for the OSOR team to help defined areas where better support for communities is expected.
